Job Summary

The Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA) welcomes applications for an Administrative Assistant! This full-time position provides high-level administrative and operational support to ensure efficient execution of financial processes, membership engagement support, internal coordination, university liaison activities, research team and board meeting logistics, recordkeeping, data management, and the annual CSRA Safety Summit. The Administrative Assistant III implements processes, manages logistics, coordinates communications, and supports day-to-day administrative operations that advance the CSRA's mission and enhance its engagement with industry and university partners. This position is based on the University of Colorado Boulder campus and requires in-person work. A hybrid arrangement may be considered in the future.

Who We Are

The Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA) is the largest industry-funded academic-led construction safety research collaboration in North America. Membership currently comprises over 100 donating Research Member and Member companies with a combined workforce of over 1 million direct employees and total turnover of over $9 trillion. The vision of the CSRA is to eliminate serious incidents and fatalities in the construction industry through transformative research and defensible science. The CSRA supports approximately 6 research teams, each with approximately 30 industry professionals (drawn from the Research Membership companies) and 3 to 4 academic researchers. This participatory research model integrates the domain expertise of the industry with the scientific expertise of the CU academic team. Research findings are presented at an annual Safety Summit and disseminated through diverse publications including academic peer-reviewed journals and industry trade magazines. The CSRA is an internationally recognized and renowned construction safety research organization.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Financial Tasks:

  • Review institutional financial logs and generate regular reports specific to CSRA spending to track expended, committed, and available funds, supporting informed budgeting and strategic decision-making.
  • Complete required CU Boulder financial trainings to remain current with university fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the University's finance team to ensure vendors, collaborators, and service providers are paid correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with financial documentation, reconciliation, and tracking related to CSRA initiatives and events.

Creative Tasks:

  • Maintain the CSRA website to ensure accuracy, usability, accessibility, and optimal performance.
  • Support the development and production of research-to-practice outputs, outreach materials, and other communications that advance the CSRA's mission.
  • Coordinate procurement of branded products to maintain strong and consistent CSRA visibility.

Organizational Tasks:

  • Coordinate logistics for research team meetings, leadership meetings, and related events.
  • Manage calendar invitations and communications related to research teams and associated activities (email, phone, and other platforms).
  • Ensure meeting spaces are reserved and properly stocked with necessary supplies, technology, and meals as appropriate.
  • Communicate expectations, updates, or procedural changes to meeting participants.
  • Support CSRA leadership in the planning and execution of the annual CSRA Safety Summit and other major events.
  • Attend research team meetings to assist with setup and address logistical questions or issues as they arise.

Other Administrative Tasks:

  • Complete on- and off-campus errands in support of CSRA operations.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with campus and external partners to advance CSRA initiatives.
  • Arrange and purchase guest travel for meetings and events, including transportation and accommodations.
  • Maintain mailing lists, databases, and other CSRA records.
  • Purchase office supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Assist with special projects, which may include miscellaneous tasks such as data entry, summary reports, site visits to support data collection, student support, taking meeting minutes.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and CSRA leadership.

What You Should Know

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy, but due to the nature of the work being performed, it is expected that the work will be performed primarily on-campus. We anticipate this being fully on-campus during the initial couple of months of training. We plan to discuss this further during the interview process.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range for this position is $51,000-$56,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require

  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, protocols, and professional standards.
  • Demonstration of strong organizational skills, discretion, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic research environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, political, and geographic backgrounds, including faculty, staff, students, and industry partners.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Associate degree aligned with the needs of the position (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration) or a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with financial records or reporting.
  • Experience working in a university, research center, or nonprofit environment.
  • Experience planning and implementing meetings or events.
