Job Description

The Culinary Technician is a full-time, non-exempt position located on the College’s Pensacola Campus. This position maintains the College's kitchen laboratory including ordering, receiving, and issuing supplies for the culinary management program and other courses or events using the laboratory; processing correspondence and forms for instructional personnel; maintaining the kitchen and storerooms within guidelines of the State of Florida Department of Public Health; preparing and arranging work order requests for building maintenance, warranty information, and other reports and forms; confirming and verifying receipts and revenue for public meal service; and delivering revenue to the College’s Cashier’s office. Reports to the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an associate degree in culinary management, hospitality management, dietary technology, or related field, or appropriate work experience on a year-to-year basis may be substituted for the College degree requirement. Four years of experience in commercial food service will substitute for the required degree. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

*Per F.S. 295.065 – Certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, will receive preference and priority, and certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

ANNUAL SALARY: $30,000.00 ($15.39/per hour)
