Culverhouse - Kelly LEAD Instructor
Position Summary
The primary focus of this position is effective undergraduate teaching in professional development within the R. James Kelly LEAD Program. Teaching will consist of 24 credit hours per academic year split roughly evenly between fall and spring semesters. There are three 1-credit hour courses in the Kelly LEAD Professional Development sequence (GBA 146 for freshmen; GBA 246 for sophomores; GBA 346 for juniors), and one 2-credit hour course, GBA 247, for transfer and change of college students. This position will focus primarily on the freshmen GBA 146 class.
Detailed Position Information
The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama seeks highly qualified applicants to teach in and support its required undergraduate R. James Kelly LEAD Program, focused on professional development. The position is non-tenure earning for a three-year term with the possibility of renewal based on funding, availability, and performance. Responsibilities include teaching 24 credit hours in the Kelly LEAD Professional Development sequence with a primary focus on teaching GBA 146, curriculum input and development, adjunct instructor training, assisting the LEAD Professional Development Coaches, supporting student mentoring, and supporting initiatives of the Kelly LEAD Program.
The appointment will become effective August 16, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be familiar with essential “soft skills” competencies (e.g., NACE competencies) underlying leadership and/or professional development and have a master’s degree.
