Job Description

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and sanitize floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper), and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Dust and clean windows, furniture, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, and vents.
• Set up and break down furniture or equipment for events, meetings, or special activities.
• Lock and unlock buildings or rooms as scheduled.
• Monitor and report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken equipment, or safety hazards.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums, wet/dry vacuums).
• Follow proper procedures for the use and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Remove snow from entry way, on occasion.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations and organizational policies.
• Able to lift ten pounds.
• Respond to emergency clean-up situations such as spills.
• Working events and games, as needed.

Shift

Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; nights and weekends as required by events.

Minimum Qualifications

A job offer for this position is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine if the candidate possesses the physical capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions.

• Ability to read and write.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions.
• One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred.
• Some knowledge of methods for cleaning equipment and buildings; mechanical ability for minor repair of equipment.
• Ability on a daily basis to: Visualize work area and determine what tasks need to be performed, Bend, squat, reach, stretch, walk, stand, sit, grasp and twist repeatedly, Climb stairs, step stools, and ladders; climb and descend stairwells, Lift, carry, and set down objects of moderate weight (25- 50 lbs.).
• Work may include one or more of the following: Working in areas of extreme temperatures, Wearing a backpack vacuum for long periods of time, Wearing protective mask and hearing protection devices, Working around dust and cleaning chemicals.
• Good physical coordination and mechanical aptitude sufficient to perform assigned duties.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.50 - $18.00 (hourly)

Grade: GGS-C
