Essential Job Functions

• Sweeps, mops, and scrub floors, stairs (inside/outside buildings) and other surfaces
• Cleans and services lavatories, and restrooms
• Cleans and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trims and chalkboards
• Vacuums rugs/carpet in offices and public areas; Shampoos rugs/carpets periodically using appropriate equipment
• Washes windowsills, glass in corridor doors, and trim in entrance doors
• Washes and/or cleans interior wall spaces
• Reports items in need of repair (doors, faucets, windows, etc.)
• Collects and places trash and debris in designated collection areas
• Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year custodial care

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of commercial cleaning processes
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective cleaning and building maintenance
• Knowledge of the use of chemicals, structure and properties of substances used in the daily operations of custodial duties
• Attention
• Ability to work within the overall organization of Facilities Management
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to express ideas effectively and concisely
