Cybersecurity Student Research Assistant - Federal Work Study
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Computer Science & Cybersecurity department on the Dahlonega campus. Looking for a focused and detailed-minded Student Research Assistant. Necessary training will be provided. The job involves reading the assigned material to learn the research topics, downloading, and installing freeware software tools, and experimenting with the tools towards the goal of the project. Detailed instructions will be provided.
Responsibilities
- The Student Research Assistant is responsible for assisting in a variety of cybersecurity technical tasks, which may include working with virtual machines, malware, machine learning algorithms, experimenting with machine learning algorithm in malware detection, and documenting the results.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
- The requirements include being a Cybersecurity or Computer Science major and have taken at least one of our Security or AI-related cources and willing to learn beyond the class assignments.
- The student should have a reliable laptop or PC which can be used for the project.
