Danforth Summer Arts Program Assistant (Part-Time)
Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Summer Arts Program Assistant is an important role that is focused on ensuring the wellbeing of students during Morning and lunch period programming. The Summer Arts Program Assistant is responsible for planning and implementing creative challenge period programming, and assists in the maintenance organization of storage areas.
The Summer Arts Program Assistant participates in any additional activities as needed during Summer Arts to support the program.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee lunch period and activities, as well as break periods for all students in grades K-8
- Collaborate with the Summer Arts Program Manager to plan, prepare and execute community focused art activity to satisfy a 30-minute time slot.
- Support and mentor Danforth Assistants
- Responsible for supervising children during A.M extended day, 8am-9am.
- Supervise the maintenance and orderly storage of art supplies in storage areas.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will need to work outside for student breaks in the morning.
- May need to lift light objects
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a leadership role
- Evidence of consistent reliability and punctuality
- An ability to adapt and respond to multiple tasks
- Remains calm under pressure
- Must be willing to work independently and proactively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with children in an arts educational setting
Additional Information
This is a part-time, non-benefited, contract position. Compensation is $18/hour. Hours and dates are as follows:
May 30th, 10am - 1pm
June 18th, 10am - 4pm,
June 27th - August 23rd, Monday through Friday, 8am - 2pm.
