Job Description Summary
The Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center is seeking a data analyst to join a team of data managers and biostatisticians supporting the Center's clinical trials, observational cohort studies, and pilot programs. The data analyst will be responsible for deeply understanding PAIR's study protocols and translating that understanding into the creation of appropriately structured analytic files, queries and data collection tools. The data analyst must demonstrate a strong knowledge of research concepts and data structures, ideally in the healthcare setting, and communicate effectively and openly with collaborators, internal and external, about technical requirements and study design considerations.
Job Description
This individual will also be responsible for executing statistical analysis plans in collaboration with faculty and postdoctoral statisticians. The data analyst will create tables and figures for manuscripts and prepare data visualizations and reports for sponsors, data safety and monitoring boards, and other research oversight agencies/committees.
The successful candidate must have significant data programming experience in R; experience with STATA is also beneficial. Above all, attention to detail and the ability to clearly and concisely convey nuanced technical information to different audiences (project managers, investigators, technical and non-technical external stakeholders, biostatisticians, data managers) will be essential to this individual's success in the position.
DUTIES:
- Write R scripts to assess data quality, generate reports, and prepare analysis-ready datasets
- Implement statistical analysis plans for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies
- Contribute to manuscript development by creating tables and figure and drafting methods and analysis sections
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations for investigators, sponsors, and research oversight committees
- Create and maintain documentation for data resources created
- Provide constructive input in study team meetings and PAIR Center-wide discussions
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology. PREFERRED
- Experience with clinical trials. PREFERRED
- Experience programming in R
- Experience analyzing complex data
- Experience with healthcare research and concepts
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
