Job Description Summary
The Data Analyst will report directly to the Clinical Research Data Manager of the 2-Prevent Breast Cancer Translational Center of Excellence (TCE) and will have the following responsibilities 1) Monitor and track data entered into clinical research study databases, work with appropriate teams to manage data flow, address delays/issues, etc.; 2) Review and verify entered data, identifying trends or patterns that result in data quality issues, make recommendations to improve data entry and processes to ensure accurate data, issue and manage queries for missing/discrepant data and track status of queries; 3) Create data visualizations and dashboards to provide snapshots of key data. Disseminate reports and metrics to users and stakeholders; 4) Train and supervise clinical research staff members on data and database related tasks and procedures, and create study materials to aid such training; 5) Support the development of key metrics that may be used by program leadership for strategic planning and study projections. The position requires a motivated, articulate individual with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate should possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Responsibilities
- Data Monitoring and Tracking: Monitor and track ongoing database activity including data entry status, missing data, and trends/patterns. Work with appropriate teams to manage data flow, address delays/issues, etc. Maintain and execute database reports to inform these tasks
- Data Review and Verification: Verify data entered in study databases using source documentation. Identify trends or patterns that result in data quality issues and make recommendations to improve data entry and processes to ensure accurate data. Issue and manage queries for missing/discrepant data, track status of queries, work with users to resolve queries, and leave audit trail to account for all data changes
- Data Visualization and Dashboards: Develop dashboards to provide snapshots of key data. Disseminate reports and metrics to users and stakeholders
- Center-Wide Data Supervision & Training: Assist in the development and maintenance of Case Report Form Completion Guidelines and Data Management Plans (DMPs) for assigned studies. Provide training for clinical research staff members on data entry and database related tasks and procedures
- Support the development of key metrics that may be used by program leadership for strategic planning and study projections
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Position is contingent upon funding.
