DATA SCIENTIST

Applies knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to the development and improvement of processes. Identify limitations, or potential issues with datasets and data types that may impact performance from machine learning algorithms. Re-train models as needed to address new challenges, or novel goals. Aid investigators and stakeholders in the validation of results. Generate detailed reports and presentations. May mentor and train junior staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex data and provides data driven reports.
• Handles statistical data and creates predictive models.
• Processes research information and turns this information into actionable plans.
• Provides valuable insight and findings to units.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $85,600 - $139,100

Position requires you must be onsite in Birmingham, Alabama.

Qualifications

Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
