Dean of Business, Education and Liberal Arts
The Dean is responsible for the direct management of division operations, including personnel, budgetary, and curricular functions. The Dean manages appropriate functions to ensure the educational needs of students and the community are met. Serves as principal advisor to the Vice President. Working collaboratively with division personnel, sets goals, direction, and vision for the division. Acts as the senior educational administrator for assigned curriculum. Provides leadership and participates in institutional planning and management of the college. Serves on appropriate college, community, and statewide councils, committees, and task forces.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in a discipline or related to a discipline taught at LBCC. Three years of teaching or related instructional experience at the college level, preferably at a community college, with a minimum of two years of supervisory, department chair, or equivalent management experience.
Essential Duties: Perform supervisory responsibilities, make personnel recommendations, administer performance appraisals, serve as advisor to the Vice President, participate in strategic planning, ensure effective communication, administer budgets, oversee curricular offerings, develop schedules and programs, ensure accreditation compliance, lead student advising, process complaints, oversee facilities, and maintain community relationships.
