Experience: Minimum of 5 years of management experience in business or higher education. Experience in the development and administration of education and training programs. Successful experience developing revenue generating programs. Strong entrepreneurial skills and experience developing and implementing innovative educational programs to address the needs of a particular industry. Experience with grant procurement and management. Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the processes involved in developing and implementing continuing education programs, including pedagogy, instructor selection, and instructional design. General understanding of marketing and sales concepts. Familiar with budgeting and fiscal management. Must possess a broad knowledge of the functions and operations of business and industry, and higher education. Skills: Ability to work with a varied constituency including representatives from business and industry, civic organizations, government officials, faculty, labor unions, and other Triton departments. Strong leadership skills that include setting priorities, creative problem-solving, making decisions in ambiguous situations, and completing multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities Provide leadership and support for all Continuing Education programs, activities, and services, and assess performance and outcomes. Develop and manage student recruitment and retention strategies for new and returning students. Oversee management of departmental budgets and expenditures of funds. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, evaluation and professional growth of Continuing Education instructional personnel. Promote and support a culture of innovation in academic programming and delivery. Lead the annual strategic planning process and the establishment of short and long range programmatic and financial goals. Collaborate in the development and implementation of programs that support workforce needs and professional development. Promote engagement with employers to generate internships, work-related experiences, and employment for students. Ensure courses address current and emerging needs of the community and other identified constituencies. Research, evaluate, and apply for grant-funded opportunities. Ensure departments are effectively managed including staff supervision, budgetary management, and program administration. Review and approve program schedules, including classroom and laboratory schedules. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
