Dean of Math and Engineering
Position Overview
The Dean of Math and Engineering oversees the Math Department and the Architecture, Construction and Engineering Department (that includes Architecture, Construction, Electrical Technology, Engineering, Engineering Technology and Industrial Design), the MESA program, and the Math and Engineering Student Center. Additionally, the Dean of Math and Engineering will be involved in supporting and coordinating the move into the new Engineering Technology building.
Salary
YEARLY: $145,488 (step 1) - $177,264 (step 5). New employees placed at first step $145,488, second $152,856, or third $160,596 depending on experience.

Examples of Duties/Essential Functions
- Provides vision and leadership for a diverse, dynamic and innovative community of faculty, staff and students.
- Provides year-round leadership, management, participation and development of instructional programs.
- Assists in hiring and evaluation of personnel.
- Manages budget, curriculum development, grant applications, and program reviews.
- Serves on committees and promotes student success and equity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Earned master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Equivalent to at least three (3) years of full-time instructional, student, and/or other relevant support services experience. Equivalent to one year experience in a lead role such as a department chair.
License: Ability to obtain a valid Class C California Driver's License.
Desirable Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, including supporting the Math and Engineering Student Center.
- Understanding of how to support a variety of academic disciplines, including CTE and transfer programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AB1705 and its impact on math departments.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration between student services and instruction.
- Demonstrated experience working with industry partners for CTE programs.
