Georgia Gwinnett College seeks an innovative, adaptable and visionary leader as the next dean of the School of Liberal Arts.

Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is one of 26 institutions within the University System of Georgia (USG). With its establishment, GGC became the nation's first four-year public college founded in the 21st century, and the first four-year public institution created in Georgia in more than 100 years. GGC is a 21st century institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Serving approximately 12,000 full and part-time students, GGC offers 21 bachelor's degree programs with 60+ programs of study. Its students have scored it among the nation's top colleges in several areas of student engagement, a critical predictor of student success.

The School of Liberal Arts (SLA) offers courses that span a range of interests - from cognition and neuroscience to legal studies, world history and English literature. Majors within the School of Liberal Arts include: Cinema and Media Arts Production; Criminal Justice/Criminology; English; History; Human Services; Political Science; and Psychology In addition to its comprehensive array of undergraduate majors, the School of Liberal Arts offers five Nexus Degrees that provide students with focused, career-aligned academic pathways including: Professional Sound Design for Film and Television; Production Design; Motion Picture Set Lighting; Production for Film and Television; and Professional Editing for Film and Television. These programs, developed in partnership with the Georgia Film Academy, are designed to prepare students for immediate entry into Georgia's expanding film and digital entertainment sectors through hands-on, experiential learning and flexible course delivery formats. Finally, the English Language Institute (ELI), housed within the School of Liberal Arts, serves as a vital academic resource for non-native English speakers.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs/Provost, the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) serves as the chief administrator, providing comprehensive leadership to drive the strategic, academic, intellectual, fiscal, and administrative functions of the School. The dean will strategically position the School for the future and will have the creativity, talent, and experience to build on its legacy of academic excellence and commitment to students' access to success.
