Dean of the School of Medicine

The Dean will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the School, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance medical education, research, and community engagement in alignment with the University’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic, strategic, and operational leadership for the School of Medicine.
  • Oversee program development, curriculum quality, faculty recruitment, and student success initiatives.
  • Promote excellence in teaching, research, and service.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure institutional sustainability.
  • Foster partnerships with healthcare institutions, government agencies, and other academic organizations.
  • Uphold and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School community.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and medical education guidelines.


Qualification Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • An earned doctorate (MD or equivalent) and significant experience in medical education, research, and academic leadership.
  • Proven track record of success in academic administration and program development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in effective financial and resource management.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and medical education guidelines.
  • Understanding of current trends and challenges in medical education and healthcare.
