  • The myHR Readiness portfolio is a collection of 17 workstreams that aims to ensure that our current HR systems meet critical business needs. We aim to improve and simplify some of the HR processes that matter most to colleagues, whilst also preparing for the transition to the University's new HR and payroll system, myHR.
  • An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Deputy Business Lead to join the portfolio team and support the effective delivery of this large-scale change.

The Role

As the Deputy Business Lead, you will play a pivotal role in scoping and delivering system and process solutions across the myHR Readiness portfolio.

You will work closely with the myHR Readiness Business Leads, and collaborate with our cross-functional myHR Readiness team, to translate business needs into effective, user-focused solutions. Activities will include researching requirements, contributing to design decisions, managing risks and issues, preparing proposals, and tracking delivery across multiple workstreams.

You will help shape meaningful engagement with stakeholders across the University, contributing to working groups, governance bodies, committees and active user communities. You'll ensure that changes are clearly communicated and embedded smoothly to enable the adoption of new ways of working.

About you

To succeed in this role, your knowledge and experience will include:

  • Experience as an HR professional with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and/or University HR procedures.
  • A proven track record of contributing to or leading improvements in HR processes, systems or service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to people at all levels and produce high-quality documents.
  • Well-developed project management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational practicality.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills across all stakeholder groups, including system and process users.
  • An understanding of change management principles and how to support teams through change.
