Development Director - 528154
Job Summary
The Development Director generates charitable support for The University of Alabama in excess of $1.0 million annually. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects believed to be capable of making major gifts. Meets defined visit and solicitation goals. Works closely with deans, faculty, volunteers, and other stakeholders to achieve goals. Solicits significant, major-level gifts including current gifts, pledges, and planned gifts. Prioritizes tasks set in consultation with supervisors. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise other development employees.
Additional Department Summary
Reports to the Associate Vice President of Development. Secures philanthropic support from corporations and foundations. Manages and grows a portfolio of donors. Works with University leadership, faculty, and staff to align proposals with college, school, and institutional priorities. Works with campus partners to steward corporate and foundation donors, which may require comprehensive reporting back to the donor. Plans and executes campus visits for corporate and foundation prospects and donors. Works with the Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to identify and solicit new corporate and foundation partners. Records all outreach and activity in Denny, the Division of Advancement’s CRM database.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Good public relations. Good verbal and written communications. Excellent writing skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages.
Pay Grade/Pay Range
Minimum: $83,500 - Midpoint: $112,700 (Salaried E13)
