Essential Job Duties:
The Device Configuration and Deployment Analyst supports the DASA Tech device management service by developing, configuring, and maintaining managed endpoint devices across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS platforms. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director for Systems Operations, this role helps ensure devices are securely configured, efficiently deployed, and properly maintained to support the operational needs of DASA.
- Use enterprise device management systems-including Active Directory, SCCM, JAMF, Apple School Manager, and Google Admin-to manage device configuration, operating systems, and patching for endpoint devices used in DASA.
- Assist with the testing, configuration, and deployment of printers and specialized hardware such as digital signage, check-in kiosks, medical devices, and digital audio workstations, and support the Compliance Analyst in addressing endpoint device vulnerabilities and hardware requirements.
- Create and update application packages using SCCM and JAMF; test both self-created and University-created packages and deploy them to endpoint devices.
- Oversee testing of new computer models and peripherals and maintain a pool of testing devices.
- Develop and implement scripts and group policies to automate system operations and improve efficiency, primarily using PowerShell and Python.
- Collaborate with the Service Desk and campus IT partners to address operational issues and support new initiatives.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and operational procedures that support consistent service delivery and empower team members in their support responsibilities.
- Manage network share folders and permissions, including facilitating the migration of NAS folders.
- Provide backup support to the System Administrator for routine processes.
Success in this role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and campus partners. The position works collaboratively with team members to support reliable device management services and ensure consistent, well-documented system operations.

Minimum Experience/Education:
- Master's degree and at least one year of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience
* For management-level roles, also include with the above requirements 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency administering Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS devices using enterprise management systems such as Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, JAMF, and Google Admin Console.
- Ability to develop and use scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, Perl, and Shell to support automation and system management.
- Experience with enterprise IP address management (IPAM) solutions such as InfoBlox or BlueCat and a working understanding of TCP/IP networking and OSI layer models.
- Knowledge of device management systems, including Active Directory, JAMF, and Chrome Device Management, and the use of local clients for specialized applications.
- Understanding of the university's technical environment, tools, and standards related to data and device security.
- Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA compliance requirements and the ability to apply appropriate security protocols within technical environments.
- Experience documenting and managing incidents using ServiceNow to track, analyze, and report technical issues and trends.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document procedures, train technical staff, and communicate with supported users.
- Ability to respond promptly and accurately to information requests and select appropriate communication methods (email, instant messaging, video, verbal, or written reports) based on the audience and situation.
- Ability to tailor technical information and presentations to the knowledge level of the intended audience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three to five years of experience working with Active Directory.
- One to three years of experience working with Windows SCCM.
- One to three years of experience working with JAMF.
- Experience working with Chrome device management.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience working within ServiceNow or similar service management system.
