Job Description

Examples of Duties:
- Teach lecture and lab courses in Diesel Mechanics Technology/Medium Heavy Truck
- Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes
- Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning
- Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources
- Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses
- Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.
- Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development
- Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in diesel mechanics technology.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in diesel mechanics.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Classes are scheduled from 7:00am – 2:00pm Monday through Friday includes summer teaching and may include weekends. Additional hours will be required for office hours and the completion of administrative duties.
