Newcastle University is embarking on an exciting curriculum transformation as part of our Education Strategy 2030+. Through our new Leading Edge Curriculum Framework, we're reviewing the shape, design, content and delivery of all programmes to ensure our students gain the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to thrive academically, professionally and personally.

Our redesigned programmes will place real-world learning at their core—creating opportunities for students to engage with research, industry, practice and society throughout their studies. To support this ambition, we're looking for a passionate Digital Content Editor to join our established and growing team and help deliver our digital vision.

The Role

  • Plan, write, edit and publish high-quality digital content aligned to user needs and institutional priorities.
  • Optimise content for findability and performance (including accessibility and usability).
  • Support web projects by managing content workflows and helping stakeholders deliver content effectively.
  • Maintain and champion content standards, guidelines and governance.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure content is accurate, consistent and user-focused.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of our digital content design approach and practices.

About the team

You'll join the Web Content Team, part of Newcastle University's Marketing Team within the Marketing, Global Recruitment and Admissions Directorate. We are a comprehensive, world-class marketing team dedicated to supporting our partners, academics and students.

Our vision for marketing at Newcastle encompasses:

  • Embracing a digital-first approach.
  • Encouraging our team through personal growth.
  • Engaging with our clients and audiences.
  • Delivering an exceptional marketing strategy.

We're highly collaborative and innovative, combining a wide range of planning, creative and technical skillsets.
