Placement Administrator
Placement Activity accounts for up to 50% of a student’s course on professional degrees and is imperative to ensuring our students have the relevant opportunity to gain experiences and the required skills. The Practice Placement team’s role is to provide high quality, efficient and effective placement support for students, academics and placement providers.
We require an experienced, enthusiastic, proactive and organised individual. Utilising communication and negotiation skills to support placement allocations, or using your analytical skills to process documentation on behalf of students in to support placements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a cohort of placements to organise, release, and respond to the cohort regarding placements.
- Act as a first point of contact to enquiries by telephone, in writing and by email from students, academic colleagues, external partners and other enquirers.
- Work with others to support the electronic portfolios for Nursing and Midwifery students during placement.
Other Responsibilities
- As a member of the Practice Placement Team, work flexibly and provide cover for others where requested, including working across the different sites as necessary. Being active in contributions to team working, and participate in ongoing professional development as required.
- Maintain effective working relationships with University colleagues and external partners.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with your Grade as requested by the Practice Education Support Manager or Placement Team Leaders.
You will have an excellent standard of ICT and literacy skills, be able to work independently to deadlines, and be able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
The Practice Placement Team sits within the Student Development and Graduate Success Department which supports practice-based education and training programmes across Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacy, Social Care and Education.
The Student Directorate’s professional support teams work together to ensure services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of students, staff, and stakeholders.
This is a part-time, fixed term position until 30 September 2026 (18.5 hours per week). This role could be offered as a secondment opportunity.
