We now have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Education Support Officer to join our team in the Education Design, Quality and Standards Directorate.
- Full-time, continuing position
- Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
- HEWL 5: $78,740 - $89,310 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits,
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Education Support Officer plays a key role in enabling high-quality learning and teaching by supporting the effective use of the University’s digital learning environment and endorsed technologies. Working within the Education Design team, this role provides responsive, customer-focused technical and operational support to educators using JCU’s Learning Management System and associated digital learning tools, helping to ensure teaching practices are effective, engaging and reliable.
In this role, you will work closely with educators, Educational Designers and subject matter experts to support subject and assessment development projects. You will assist in ensuring learning activities and materials are accessible, correctly configured and fully functional in line with relevant standards. You will also contribute to building educator capability in technology-enhanced and flexible learning by supporting the design and delivery of professional development sessions, guides and resources.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this position, you will bring a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience providing customer-focused support for digital learning platforms such as learning management systems, video tools and collaboration technologies. You will have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a complex environment, and the initiative to work both independently and collaboratively. An understanding of Universal Design for Learning principles, accessibility standards such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and Open Educational Resources is highly desirable.
