Digital Experience Officer
The Digital Experience Officer (DXO) is a frontline fundraiser responsible for cultivating and stewarding a large portfolio of donors through personalized digital engagement. This role focuses on building lasting relationships and enhancing donor experiences to drive philanthropic support for the University of Georgia.
Key responsibilities of the job include donor engagement by managing a portfolio of donors giving between $500 and $49,000 through one-on-one virtual meetings and tailored communication; fundraising strategy by developing personalized approaches to increase donor retention, upgrade giving levels, and identify referrals for major gift prospects; collaboration by partnering with division colleagues to align donor interests with university priorities and create meaningful engagement opportunities; and impact communication by sharing compelling stories and updates that demonstrate the value and impact of philanthropy across UGA’s schools, colleges, and departments.
The ideal incumbent should be passionate about UGA’s mission and able to articulate its goals with enthusiasm, possess strong skills in relationship-building and digital communication, and demonstrate strategic thinking with a donor-centric mindset and a commitment to long-term engagement.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with experience related to fundraising, nonprofit management, higher education, sales, marketing, development, business administration, project management, or relationship management.
- Knowledge of the University of Georgia is desired.

Additional Division Expectations

Physical Demands
- Travel (by car, air, train, or bus) domestically as needed.
- Work weekends, evenings, and other non-traditional schedules, as necessary.
- Work in a standard office environment

Duties/Responsibilities
(45%) Pipeline development
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit leadership annual giving donors through email, phone, and virtual meetings.
- Leverage development tools to solicit, renew, and upgrade annual donor support between $500 and $49,999.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) to help align donors’ philanthropic interests with various priorities across campus.
- Enter major gift referrals, as appropriate, through the leadership annual giving lead system.
- Responsible for achieving all annual fundraising and performance goals.
(25%) Stewardship
- Execute quarterly touchpoints to steward recent leadership annual giving donors and those with an open pledge to maintain relationships and set donors up for future solicitations.
- Collaborate with donor relations and stewardship and other colleagues across DAR to streamline outreach and ensure the utilization of stewardship best practices.
(25%) Engagement and content creation:
- Collaborate closely with development colleagues across DAR to identify and deliver content related to the impact of philanthropy through digital platforms on a monthly and quarterly basis with current and potential donors.
- Engage with leadership annual giving donors and prospects by sharing relevant content and communications.
- Collaborate with digital and annual giving teams to tailor modern marketing tactics for leadership annual giving donors.
(5%) Perform other duties as assigned to include, but not limited to:
- Completing special projects and initiatives.
- Collecting and presenting data.
- Staffing university-related events.
- Cultivating and stewarding prospects not originally assigned.
