Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Eye-Docs – Digital Transformation in Healthcare
This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project aims to digitally transform Eye-Docs’ patient care and referral systems, establishing the clinic as the preferred partner for opticians and patients. By creating a fully integrated, digital platform, Eye-Docs seeks to enhance care quality, streamline operations, and drive business growth.
About Eye-Docs
Founded in 2002, Eye-Docs is a private ophthalmic clinic offering consultant-led services for comprehensive eye care. The clinic specialises in a variety of treatments, including cataract surgery, macular degeneration, oculoplastics, and vitreoretinal procedures.
To support its strategic growth, Eye-Docs is investing in digital transformation to improve patient pathways, increase referrals from opticians, and enhance operational efficiency. The KTP will focus on:
- Digital Integration: Seamlessly connect the Midlands Connect Portal (MCP) with Salesforce for two-way communication between opticians and the clinic.
- Optician Engagement: Improve opticians’ digital literacy to encourage wider MCP adoption.
- Data Analytics: Create a structured data framework to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Operational Efficiency: Automate manual workflows, particularly around patient referrals and management.
This project provides a valuable opportunity to lead business change while applying academic theory in a practical, commercial context. The associate will work closely with senior academics from Aston University and the Eye-Docs management team.
