Director, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition
General Description
Salary: $375,000 - 475,000 per year
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic leader for this outstanding division in the Department of Pediatrics. The division currently consists of 11 full-time faculty and 4 advanced practice nurses. The Division is also supported by dedicated GI nurses, dieticians, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, fellows, and research coordinators. The faculty participate in a full range academic activities, including clinical care, research, medical education, advocacy, quality improvement, and informatics. The ideal applicant should bring an established track record of leadership in pediatric gastroenterology with a vision for growth.
The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the Johns Hopkins Children's Center are world-renowned, top-ranked, institutions with faculty that are consistently recognized as leaders in their fields. The Department of Pediatrics consists of over 250 full-time faculty members and clinical associates across 15 academic divisions, 232 part-time faculty, and 97 joint faculty. Over the past year the Children's Center discharged more than 10,000 patients and conducted nearly 140,000 outpatient visits. We have over 20 clinical locations across the Baltimore-Washington metro area.
The GI Division is one of 17 divisions in the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. The division has multiple clinical programs and centers of excellence including the Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, The Hopkins Resource for Intestinal Vitality and Enhancement, the Pediatric Liver Center and Liver Transplant Program, and the Pediatric Pancreas Center. The Division has in excess of 14,000 annual visits and performs over 1.600 procedures per year.
The Johns Hopkins Children's Center is located in Baltimore City, near the downtown Inner Harbor area, just one of Baltimore's many outstanding attractions. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology with a subspecialty in Nutrition. Qualified applicants should have a proven track record of excellence in patient care and education, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills and scholarly achievement in pediatric GI & Hepatology. Experience in health systems integration is highly preferred.
