Job Description

The Director of Student Affairs serves as the primary contact for comprehensive student services within the CVM and manages the coordination of programs, events, ceremonies, and services for the Office of Student Affairs. The DSA provides leadership and vision to ensure the proper development and implementation of an effective Student Affairs program for current LMU-CVM students.

Job Duties

• Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate student activities sponsored by Student Affairs.
• Create and publish monthly calendars and newsletters provided by Student Affairs.
• Design and produce fliers and other advertising media appropriate for attracting interest in student participation and engagement.
• Plan and monitor budget for the Office of Student Affairs.
• Oversee student club activities and governance and maintain records of club events.
• Review and approve club fundraisers.
• Plan and maintain calendars and media related to student affairs.
• Oversee student records and files.
• Oversee company representatives.
• Oversee student finances and purchasing.
• Ensure that programmed activities enhance the mission statement of the university.
• Complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University.
• Serve as an advisor and resource agent for student organization faculty advisors and club leaders relating to campus policies and procedures governing recognized student organizations.
• Represent and advocate for the LMU-CVM student body.
• Participate in professional development programs to improve administrative skills and enhance the effective management of the Office of Student Affairs.
• Serve on the CVM Wellbeing Committee.
• Oversee student wellness events.
• Plan, execute, and oversee all aspects of CVM ceremonial events, such as Orientations, White Coat ceremony, and Commencement.
• Collaborate with other Student Affairs and Admissions offices on campus.
• Prepare requests for services, space, and equipment required to execute the functions of the office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
