Position Summary
The Director of International Admissions & Immigration Support provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the recruitment, admission, enrollment, and ongoing support of international undergraduate and graduate students at La Salle University. This role ensures a seamless experience from initial recruitment through matriculation and successful integration into campus life, while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal immigration regulations.
Working collaboratively across Enrollment Management, Mission, Diversity & Inclusion, Academic Affairs, and Student Success units, the Director advances La Salle University's commitment to global education, inclusive community, and Lasallian Catholic values. The position serves as a key institutional leader in supporting international students' academic, cultural, and personal success.
Essential Duties
International Recruitment and Admissions
- Recruit, process, admit, and enroll all full-time international undergraduate and graduate students and support the process for international student exchanges.
- In conjunction with the Senior Vice President of University Strategy and the Assistant Vice President & Dean of Enrollment, develop and execute a comprehensive international recruitment strategy aligned with institutional goals.
- Manage international recruitment territories and conduct outreach through travel, school visits, college fairs, and virtual engagement, both internationally and domestically.
- Track prospects, inquiries, applications, and deposits using CRM systems; analyze data to guide recruitment strategy and territory management.
- Complete and review international undergraduate admission applications, including evaluation of foreign educational credentials and authenticity of documentation.
- Collaborate with Graduate and Adult Admission to support recruitment and admission of international graduate students.
- Establish, maintain, and oversee relationships with international agents, agencies, and third-party recruiters, ensuring ethical practices and institutional alignment.
- Conduct information sessions, one-on-one advising meetings, and yield activities for prospective students and families.
- Represent the University at admissions, enrollment, and recruitment events, including department- and division-sponsored initiatives.
International Student Immigration Compliance
- Collaborate closely with staff in Mission, Diversity & Inclusion, Enrollment Management, and Registrar staff to support visa compliance and onboarding.
- Serve as Designated School Official (DSO - backup to the PDSO) for F-1 SEVIS reporting and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 Exchange Visitor SEVIS reporting, as applicable.
- Manage and maintain I-20 and DS-2019 processes post-enrollment, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies related to nonimmigrant student visas and international student compliance.
- Assist with providing guidance and coordination related to immigration processes, identification, tax documentation, Social Security numbers, and employment authorization (OPT/CPT).
Secondary Responsibilities
- Attends, supports, and assists with other divisional and University-wide events.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Vice President for Mission, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in international admissions, international student services, or a related higher education field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Previous experience working with international students in a higher education setting.
- Strong knowledge of international admissions processes, immigration regulations, and SEVIS compliance.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse constituents.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience serving as DSO or PDSO.
- Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM and/or Ellucian Banner.
- Proficiency in a language other than English.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in an urban or international context.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Evening and weekend work will be necessary during peak times.
- Travel to schools and college fairs within recruitment territories, both domestic and international, as designated by the University.
- Valid driver's license and passport required.
- Ability to traverse the campus, including navigating steep stairs.
