Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Director of Academic Success supports the Senior Director in executing the strategic vision and operational functions of the Center for Student Success (CSS). This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring high-quality service delivery, continuous improvement of student success programs, and fostering collaborative engagement across campus. The Director focuses on the implementation, coordination, and assessment of initiatives designed to promote student persistence, retention, and holistic development throughout the undergraduate experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of CSS, ensuring seamless delivery of advising, coaching, and academic support services.
- Coordinate logistics and staffing for programs aligned with the four-year integrated student experience model.
- Support the development, execution, and evaluation of retention and outreach programs, including summer bridge and early intervention initiatives.
- Oversee the development and execution of the CSS Summer Program with support from the Academic Success Coordinator.
- Develop and recommend retention, attrition, and persistence strategies.
- Provide direct supervision and professional development for Center’s professional and support staff.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to implement data-informed practices and conduct ongoing program assessments.
- Contribute to institutional data collection efforts related to retention, engagement, and student satisfaction. Prepare reports and analyses to inform decision-making and enhance accountability across CSS functions.
- Assist in managing the implementation and optimization of student success technologies (EAB/Workday), ensuring appropriate utilization across staff and students.
- Maintain regular communication with students and campus partners through coordinated messaging, workshops, and outreach campaigns.
- In the absence of the Senior Director, act as a liaison with key partners across the institution, including faculty, deans, Registrar, and Enrollment Management, to identify and eliminate barriers to student success.
- Assist in managing departmental budgets and support efforts to secure external funding for student success initiatives.
- Maintain internal documentation, process guides, and compliance records to ensure continuity and effectiveness of services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in academic advising, student success, or student services.
- Demonstrated leadership in supporting diverse student populations and fostering inclusive student experiences.
- Strong understanding of retention theory, student development, and the use of technology in student success.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED:
- Familiarity with current understanding of core concepts, values, and competencies of student development and support services.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement innovative methods to work with at-risk students.

Salary Range
$78,000.00-$85,000.00 Annually
