Blair Academy’s advancement office has an opening for a Director of Advancement Information Services. This full-time exempt position is responsible for the strategic oversight, management and integrity of the School’s advancement database—a critical tool supporting fundraising, alumni relations and special events. The role ensures the advancement team has accurate, timely and insightful data that plays a key role in equipping the advancement team with meaningful data that strengthens connections and drives strategic decision-making. Success in this position requires a blend of technical expertise, data management skills and a solid understanding of philanthropy. The position reports to the Director of Advancement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Database oversight & reporting:

  • Implement and manage policies and procedures for technology use, provide database and technical support;
  • Coordinate and oversee advancement reports and presentations;
  • Oversee the entry of new Trustees, parents and grandparents’ records into the database;
  • Proactively facilitate advancement office use of technology, including the Raiser’s Edge/NXT transition and the broader incorporation of artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge platforms to maximize the impact and efficiency of advancement office work;
  • Manage and provide data for mailings, emails, texting and disaster outreach;
  • Provide onboarding and training in RE for new hires; and
  • Annually “turnover” the database (change constituency codes for parents and grandparents; update queries, exports & canned reports; update/inactivate constituents as needed in GiveCampus).

Prospect research:

  • Manage donor research practices and policies, including monthly “to do” lists and timelines;
  • Develop and oversee prospect tracking system;
  • Prepare in-depth research profiles and participate in creating cultivation and solicitation strategies;
  • Research all new/incoming parents and top alum prospects; and
  • Research 10th, 25th, 45th and 50th reunion classes, as well as other individuals on an ad hoc basis.

Gift processing, recording & reporting:

  • Oversee gift recording and acknowledgement process, proof gift entry;
  • Reconcile regularly with the business office;
  • Complete annual external gift reporting survey (DASL);
  • Manage the annual report process; and
  • Create and maintain major gift metric reports, including EOM reporting for gifts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • 7+ years relevant experience working within a database and in fundraising/donor engagement;
  • High level of competency with donor screening, database management tools and database training;
  • Highly proficient in Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database;
  • Experience working with GiveCampus or similar online giving and volunteer management platform;
  • Proven ability to work in WealthEngine, Windfall or similar prospect research screening tools;
  • Ability to multitask and to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; and
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary.

Salary & other compensation:

Base pay range $65,000 -$85,000. Salary dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
