Director of Enterprise Applications & Solutions
Primary Purpose of the Position
The Director of Enterprise Applications & Solutions provides critical leadership for the university's enterprise digital ecosystem, including Banner ERP, enterprise and departmental applications, Canvas and educational technologies, the public website and web applications, Microsoft 365 services, institutional reporting and analytics platforms, and related enterprise technologies.
This position is responsible for the strategic planning, administration, integration, development, enhancement, security, and operational support of enterprise applications and digital solutions that support academic, administrative, student success, research, and business operations across the university. The Director provides leadership and oversight for enterprise application administration, business systems analysis, reporting and analytics, systems integration, web application administration, and application development services.
The Director collaborates with university leadership, campus stakeholders, technology partners, and the University of North Carolina System Office to ensure enterprise technologies are reliable, secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with institutional priorities and digital transformation initiatives. This role is essential for maintaining continuity across mission-critical systems that support student services, instruction, financial operations, compliance reporting, and institutional effectiveness, while advancing innovation and improving the user experience across enterprise platforms.
If this position remains vacant, the university will face increased operational risk, including delays in system maintenance and upgrades, reduced support for teaching and learning technologies, gaps in oversight of enterprise applications and web services, and diminished capacity to meet reporting and compliance requirements.
