Job Summary
Provide leadership and operational oversight for Facilities Operations serving a 300,000-square-foot instructional site of Georgia Southern University. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable campus facilities through effective planning, fiscal oversight, and customer-focused service delivery. The position oversees day-to-day maintenance operations including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Grounds, and custodial services to support the operational needs of the campus community. Through collaborative leadership and hands-on management, the role ensures facilities are well maintained and campus operations run effectively in support of institutional goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily facilities operations and maintenance activities for a 300,000-square-foot instructional site, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Grounds, and custodial services
- Establish and implement departmental goals, priorities, policies, procedures, and operational improvements to support efficient service delivery
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets while monitoring expenditures and resource allocation
- Coordinate renovation, repair, and minor construction projects in collaboration with Facilities Planning, Design & Construction staff
- Supervise, train, and evaluate departmental staff while promoting professional development, workplace safety, and compliance with University policies and regulations
- Serve as a liaison with campus departments, contractors, vendors, and external partners regarding facilities operations and maintenance needs
- Support campus leadership in identifying facility maintenance priorities, capital improvement needs, emergency response efforts, and operational initiatives in support of institutional goals
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
- Five (5) or more years of related work experience
- Higher education experience
- Proven supervisory experience
Proposed Salary
$68,962
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
