Job Summary
Western University of Health Sciences is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Director of Financial Aid to lead and manage comprehensive financial aid operations of Western University of Health Sciences. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing the strategic development, implementation, and administration of financial aid programs and services at Western University of Health Sciences, ensuring that all students have equitable access to financial resources for their education. The Director will provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and promote a student-centered approach to financial aid services, all while fostering a culture of inclusion and excellence. - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and problem resolution.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
- Commitment to student success, with a focus on increasing access to higher education for a diverse student population.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of financial aid technologies and systems, and the ability to innovate and implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in financial aid administration, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expert knowledge of Title IV regulations and other federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and processes.
- Proven success in leading teams, managing complex financial aid operations, and collaborating across departments.
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting related to financial aid.
- Familiarity with financial aid software and student information systems (e.g., Banner, PowerFAIDS, COD, NSLDS, Scholarnet). Banner is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or other postgraduate credential in a related field is preferred. Preference will be given to those individuals who possess experience with Health Professions student aid and to those individuals possessing experience with Banner software.
