Duties
As Director of Human Resources, you will lead the full HR portfolio across academic, research and administrative staff. You will set the vision for HR, translate the university’s mission and values into actionable people strategies, and champion a modern, inclusive, high performance culture. You will work closely with Deans and Heads to anticipate workforce needs, support organisational change, and ensure that talent, capability and culture keep pace with the university’s ambitions.
You will oversee all core HR domains including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR policy and governance. A key focus will be digital transformation of HR processes and services, leveraging HR data and analytics for decision-making and employee insights. You will ensure compliance with the Employment Ordinance and relevant regulations in Hong Kong while adopting best people-first practices to enhance employee engagement and well-being.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is expected to bring substantial senior HR leadership experience from a complex organisation such as higher education, public sector or large corporate, with a proven track record of leading change and modernising HR. The candidate should possess a solid understanding of Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and the capability to develop modern, people-focused practices, be adept at working at both strategic and operational levels, and be able to influence and build trust within a diverse international environment. Strong command of both English and Chinese with excellent written and spoken communication skills, cultural agility and a collaborative leadership style are essential.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
