Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Director of Operations, Faculty of Science to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Science.
The Director of Operations is a key member of the Faculty of Science Executive which develops and implements the Faculty’s mission and strategy in collaboration with the Faculty Executive team. The Director of Operations works closely with Professional and School Managers to provide strategic support and advice to the Faculty Executive team. Together the Faculty leadership team leads, promotes and fosters an inclusive, high performance culture that strengthens QUT's reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The Director of Operations is responsible for strategically leading and overseeing the operational functions within the Faculty, ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient professional services in support of the Faculty's strategy and goals. This includes local finance, space and asset management, technical services, administrative services, and data analytics. The position ensures that the service model is responsive and agile, and the culture is professional, proactive and positive, with staff willing to work across organisational boundaries to achieve University and Faculty objectives. The position requires high level extra-Faculty engagement and collaboration with central support functions, to ensure delivery of high-quality expertise to meet Faculty needs and priorities. Appointees are expected to demonstrate initiative and flexible work practices, appropriate to a Faculty leadership role.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area with extensive managerial experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively partner, influence and collaborate.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience that drives a high performance and collaborative work culture in a large, complex organisation.
- Proven experience to coordinate and implement effective service delivery from multiple stakeholders.
- Record of success in data analytics and critically evaluating systems and processes to achieve ongoing improvements at a strategic and operational level.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial management with strong analytical skills.
