"Director of Research and Enterprise"

The University of Southampton is seeking a distinguished candidate to join as the founding Director of Research and Enterprise at its Delhi campus. This pivotal role will lead research, knowledge exchange, and enterprise activities, working collaboratively with the Academic Provost & Associate Vice-President (International), the Chief Operating Officer of the Delhi campus, and the Director of Learning and Teaching to shape and implement globally aligned strategies.

The role is central to advancing the University’s internationalisation strategy, supporting aspirations to be a globally relevant institution. The Delhi campus focuses on advancing research that is locally grounded and globally impactful, delivering exceptional educational experiences, applying research to solve social and environmental challenges, building capacity through enterprise and employment-focused education, and collaborating with Indian thought leaders.

Candidates should have a strong track record in leading research, knowledge exchange, and enterprise. As a visible leader, you will shape strategies, lead cross-disciplinary initiatives, build strategic partnerships, and navigate regulatory environments in India and the UK.

The post is offered on a tenured basis initially for five years, with possible extension up to eight years, after which the postholder returns to a substantive professorial position.
