Additional responsibilities include attending and coordinating program events, managing residency related surveys, data, and records; collecting, maintaining and analyzing program data to monitor progress, inform decisions, and support continuous improvement efforts. The residency coordinator also supports program evaluation activities, including walkthroughs, observation cycles, and outcome analyses, while collaborating with faculty through meetings to ensure effective program delivery and strong resident experiences.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate and support the implementation of the yearlong teacher residency program across partner school districts.
- Track and monitor residency placements, resident progress, and program participation to ensure successful completion of residency requirements.
- Oversee and support site coordinators, serving as the primary point of contact for residency-related questions and program implementation.
- Communicate residency program requirements, deadlines, expectations, and updates to residents, site coordinators, host teachers, principals, faculty, and district partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate orientations, trainings, governance meetings, information sessions, and other residency-related meetings for stakeholders.
- Conduct regular campus visits and check-ins with residents, site coordinators, and district partners to monitor program quality and participant success.
- Coordinate residency events and activities, including onboarding sessions, recognition events, and partner meetings.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze residency program data to monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, support reporting requirements, and inform decision-making.
- Administer residency-related surveys and maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support program evaluation activities, including walkthroughs, observation cycles, resident performance reviews, and outcome analyses.
- Collaborate with faculty and district partners to ensure effective program implementation and positive residency experiences.
- Maintain strong partnerships with school districts and community stakeholders to support residency program growth and sustainability.

Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Texas Teacher Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience (minimum, 5 years) teaching EC-12
- Possess a working knowledge of Texas Administrative Code and agencies that govern Texas teacher preparation (THECB & TEA).
- Texas Principal Certification
Physical Requirements:
Will visit partner districts and campuses.

History
The institution was founded in 1928 as San Angelo Junior College and then changed the name to San Angelo College in 1932. The campus was moved from its original downtown location to its current site in 1948. By an act of the 58th Session of the Texas Legislature, the institution was designated as Angelo State College in 1965, the year it became a four-year, state-supported institution. The name was changed to Angelo State University in 1969. On Sept. 1, 2007, Angelo State University became a member of the Texas Tech University System.
Academics
Angelo State offers on-campus and online courses through six colleges: Arts and Humanities; Business; Education; Health and Human Services; Science and Engineering; and Graduate Studies and Research. The university is recognized for its strong undergraduate programs overall, and its computer science and commercial aviation programs recently earned prestigious certifications from the National Security Agency and Federal Aviation Administration, respectively. ASU also features a vibrant Honors Program, support programs for first-generation and former foster care students, and a thriving Center for International Studies.

Campus
Angelo State University’s campus is situated on 274 acres in the center of San Angelo and is lined with native live oak and pecan trees. In addition to being one of the prettiest campuses in the region, it is one of the safest in Texas and features ultramodern facilities with state-of-the-art technology support. ASU is home to one of only two State of Texas Data Centers, which provide sophisticated computer processing and disaster recovery services for agencies and universities, and to the state’s first Regional Security Operations Center that provides cybersecurity services for municipal and state agencies and private entities.
