Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) programme
The School of Education and English (EDEN) at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China, is seeking an exceptional teacher trainer and scholar to join in February 2026 as Director of the PGCHE programme.
About our School/Department: The PGCHE programme is housed within EDEN, where tri-campus schools in China, the UK, and Malaysia collaborate on programmes in Applied Linguistics, International Higher Education, and more. It is a research-active unit with state-of-the-art facilities, focusing on areas like Psycholinguistics and Language Teaching Education.
About the Role: The Academic Director manages modules for new academics, delivers teaching and assessment materials, and ensures PGCHE accreditation by Advance HE, leading to HEA Fellow status. Responsibilities include developing teacher training workshops, expanding programmes globally, seeking grants, leading research, and collaborating with UNNC’s UNESCO Office and the University of Nottingham, UK.
About You: Candidates need a doctoral degree in education or related field, HEA Senior Fellow status, experience in teacher training, excellence in administration, and a strong research record in education, particularly teacher training. The position is at Associate Professor level based on experience.
