Summary
An established, community-focused rehabilitative and wellness organization is seeking a Director of Rehabilitative & Wellness Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary wellness center in the Buffalo, NY area.
The Director is responsible for planning, developing, executing, and evaluating integrated rehabilitative and wellness programming designed to serve diverse community populations as well as institutional stakeholders. This role operates within an innovative health services ecosystem that integrates clinical care, education, and workforce development.
The Director leads an interprofessional team of licensed clinicians and collaborates closely with internal leadership and external partners to ensure high-quality, compliant, and impactful service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
- Serve as a full-time clinician (1.0 FTE) while fulfilling director-level administrative and leadership responsibilities.
- Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitative and wellness center, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality services.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate wellness and rehabilitative initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
Program Development & Oversight
- Lead and participate in relevant committees and engage academic and clinical partners as appropriate.
- Design and manage participant recruitment strategies.
- Establish program evaluation frameworks to measure outcomes and support continuous improvement.
- Prepare and administer required reports and documentation.
Team Leadership & Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate multidisciplinary clinical and wellness staff.
- Foster a collaborative, interprofessional culture focused on exceptional patient-centered care.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with community members to ensure programs are accessible, relevant, and impactful.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, businesses, and external partners.
- Serve as a liaison to external stakeholders and clinical affiliates.
Institutional & Performance Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal partners to support wellness, performance optimization, injury prevention, and rehabilitative services.
- Ensure alignment and integration of initiatives across functional areas.
Policy & Compliance
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant program administration.
- Oversee assessment and quality assurance processes.
Additional Opportunities
May utilize facility resources outside of standard operating hours (subject to availability) to support approved athletic training, performance development, or community-based initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission.
Preferred and Required Qualifications
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current, unrestricted New York State professional license, or NYS licensure in progress and active by date of hire; credentialing required within six months.
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy required.
- Additional graduate-level education in a health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as program needs require.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually
The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation based on the role’s responsibilities, market considerations, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
