The Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) is a distinguished Research Centre of Excellence that uniquely bridges life sciences with engineering and natural sciences to understand, harness and control microbial biofilm communities and microbiomes. Hosted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in partnership with National University of Singapore (NUS), two of the world's premier universities, SCELSE operates as a leading multidisciplinary research centre advancing sustainability and translational impact through cutting-edge research in environmental engineering, public health and medical applications.

SCELSE is now seeking to appoint an outstanding leader to serve as its next Director. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity in a world-class interdisciplinary and highly dynamic environment. The Director will provide strategic leadership and vision for SCELSE's future, fostering impactful collaborations across disciplines, advancing partnerships with industry, government agencies, and international research institutions while driving the centre's sustainability mission and translational research impact on local and global stages.

We seek a distinguished research leader, internationally recognised in biofilms, microbiomes, or related areas. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience in academic or research institutions, a strong track record in securing competitive research funding, and demonstrated ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Essential qualities include excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, along with a deep commitment to advancing sustainability through scientific innovation.
