General Summary
Responsible for leading and managing the distance delivery mechatronics program to high schools and business and industry. Plans, organizes, administers, and evaluates distance mechatronics program. Will ensure implementation of quality instructional program. Establishes working relationships and ongoing partnerships with high school administration and staff, business and industry partners, and vendors who supply parts for the lab equipment. Recruits and supervises adjunct faculty and staff; and advises students. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Establishes the strategic direction for the distance delivery of mechatronics curriculum. Develops, markets, coordinates instruction for distance mechatronics for businesses and high schools. Develops timetables and coordinates college resources to include personnel and equipment to support the program.

Works with external (e.g. businesses and high schools) and internal (e.g. apprenticeship, internships) to support the distance mechatronics program and promote student success. This may include activities such as (but not limited to) high school visits, coordination of industry presentations in high schools, coordination of industry tours for program participants.

Maintains familiarity with teaching and learning practices, instructional technologies, and learning management. Provides and/or coordinates instruction for students, staff, and other professionals; organizes courses, industry workshops, assists students in accessing cooperative education, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities and directs and coordinates summer professional development for high school facilitators.

Establishes partnerships and working relationships with high school administrators, high school facilitators, and industry partners. Oversees recruiting and retention activities to ensure program enrollments. Establishes and maintains working relationships with public and private organizations which may be potential funding sources for the distance mechatronics program.

Recommends for hire, orients, directs and, when necessary, recommends discipline or discharge of subordinate personnel, to include adjunct faculty. Assists subordinates with difficult employee and/or student relations problems. Determines adjunct faculty course assignments; analyzes adjunct faculty workload and collaborates with dean and associate dean of Career & Technical Education for full-time faculty assignments
Essential Functions
Manages inventory of hands-on mechatronics trainer equipment in collaboration with the associate dean of training and development, directing purchases of parts as necessary to meet the needs of the program, and disseminating kits to the instructional sites.

Coordinates activities with business and industry leadership team (BILT) and other vital members of the community to stay connected to the industry including recruiting new members and attending industry-related meetings.
