Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

- Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)
- Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have ongoing full-time work rights in Australia. In support of our strategic priority of Indigenous Australian success, Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people who are not QUT staff are also eligible and encouraged to apply.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist to join Equity, People Services, Administrative Division.
The Diversity & Inclusion Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, programs and other activities. The position plays a key role in contributing subject matter expertise to inform and shape these programs, projects and priorities. In addition, the position is responsible for driving continuous improvement through critical evaluation and analysis of data and other information to ensure alignment to strategic priorities.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience related to equity, diversity and inclusion or similar.
- Extensive knowledge, experience and skills in the development, coordination and implementation of equity and diversity (or similar) programs and projects in a large and complex organisation.
- Proven analytical skills to review, evaluate impact, integrate findings and continuously improve diversity and inclusion activities to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Highly developed communication and advisory skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences including senior stakeholders, central services, committees, working groups and the broader staff and student community.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and within teams, achieving joint goals, sharing knowledge and contributing positively to team culture.
- Advanced written communication skills including the ability to prepare internal correspondence, proposals, briefings, post meeting action sheets, minutes, as well as drafting complex reports, internal and external submissions and correspondence.
- Advanced skills in data analytics, evaluation, reporting and digital literacy including experience using a variety of software, learning management systems and database packages with a high attention to detail.
