The Organization:

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is the largest pediatric specialty hospital in the region and is nationally ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the country. Founded in 1882 as a small charitable institution, it has grown into a state-of-the-art, 23-story facility in downtown Chicago dedicated exclusively to children’s health.

With more than 70 pediatric specialties and subspecialties, Lurie Children’s provides comprehensive care for infants through young adults—ranging from routine health needs to the most complex medical conditions. Primary Care Faculty and Residents provide primary care for patients at Lurie Children’s Pediatrics at Deming (Lincoln Park) and Lurie Children’s Pediatrics in Uptown. In both locations, physicians are responsible for providing primary care to both typically developing children as well as those with complex medical, social, and behavioral needs. A core focus of the AGP Division is the education and supervision of Residents from the Northwestern University McGaw Residency in Pediatrics during their continuity clinic experience. Specialty care and programs available through this division include the Wellness & Weight Management program at four sites and a virtual Lead Poisoning Evaluation Clinic, as well as the Collaborative Care Mental Health program in partnership with Child Psychiatry.

In addition to a large clinical footprint, Division faculty are actively involved in medical education throughout the hospital and University. The Division also has five NIH-funded researchers, including three K Award recipients and two R Award recipients. Faculty are also actively involved in leadership positions in the community.

The new Division Head will have demonstrated leadership in clinical care, development of research, and/or administration, and strong clinical expertise, along with a proven track record of research within the field of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care.
