Are you a basic psychologist or educationalist with the ambition to develop as a lecturer? Do you want to share your clinical practice experience with eager psychology students? If you thrive in an open, warm, dynamic, and collegial environment, the Developmental Psychology program group at the University of Amsterdam is looking for you!

This role involves preparing future psychologists for clinical practice within a team of scientists, some of whom also work in clinical settings. You will provide course-based education and supervise individual education, such as internships, in clinical developmental psychology.

What you will do

• Deliver course-based education (workshops) in the master's program in clinical developmental psychology.
• Supervise students during test administrations in the Diagnostics Practicum master course.
• Supervise clinical practice internships in the master's program, including guidance on writing BAPD reports.
• Conduct discussions with students exploring internship opportunities.
• Contribute constructively to various committees and meetings within the psychology department and foster an integrity-focused, collegial work environment.

What we ask of you

As a lecturer, you know how to motivate students, emphasize the importance of evidence-based practice, and integrate research knowledge with practical applications in your teaching. Preferably, you combine this position with work in clinical practice. You work independently but collaborate well in a team, with strong communication and organizational skills. Handling peak periods in education is not an issue for you.

Your experience and profile:

• A completed master's degree in Developmental Psychology or Educational Science.
• Possession of a Basic Qualification in Psychodiagnostics (BAPD) or NVO Basic Qualification in Diagnostics.
• Practical experience in mental health care for youth and/or young adults.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

What we offer

We offer a fixed-term contract for a maximum of 11.4 hours per week for four years, with a two-month probation period, preferably starting 1 November 2025. A lower number of hours is negotiable (minimum 0.2 FTE). The salary ranges from €3,546 to €5,538 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week), in scale 10, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The CAO for Dutch Universities applies.
