Your Responsibilities
- Research in Computational Engineering towards a doctoral degree
- Support in teaching activities at the Institute of Structural Analysis
- Administrative tasks
Your Profile
- Extensive knowledge of structural (continuum) mechanics
- Strong knowledge of numerical methods, especially the FEM
- Very good programming skills, e.g., in Matlab
- High level of English and German, written and spoken
Admission Requirements
A completed master's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,865.40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit
The Institute of Structural Analysis at Graz University of Technology has an excellent reputation and strong international visibility in Computational Engineering. Structural analysis is central to civil engineering education and practice—across timber, concrete, and steel construction. Our teaching spans the full spectrum from conventional analytical methods to state-of-the-art computational techniques, including Finite Element Methods. The institute's research focuses on innovative models and simulations in Computational Engineering, with applications in structural mechanics, transport, and fluid flow.
