Overview
The aim of this Doctoral degree of Business and Economics of Universidade de Aveiro is to provide solid, advanced and updated scientific training at theoretical, methodological and applied levels in the fields of Economics, Management and Finance, training doctors with the capacity to pursue scientific research not only in academia but also in business, providing them with a more complete and in-depth understanding of economic and business reality, so as to be more productive in their activities, produce state of the art research and share their new knowledge by publishing scientific articles, attending conferences or training of new professionals.
It is the specific objective of this Doctoral Programme to satisfy the growing need for a body of experts capable of responding to the challenges posed by the complexity of the problems affecting, among others, the financial sector, industry, environment and energy, telecommunications, labor and Education, tourism and health.
Professional outcomes
The holders of the PhD degree in Business and Economics of the University of Aveiro will be able not only to carry out scientific research that expands the frontier of knowledge in these areas, but also to make analyses, plan, manage and evaluate programmes and policies in the various sectors of the economy, in a rigourous and independent manner.
Therefore, these Doctors will be prepared to integrate educational and research institutions, public institutions, consulting firms and other private organizations, both at national and international level.
