About the Opportunity

Join a research team within Kurongkurl Katitjin at Edith Cowan University. The team includes passionate academic and professional staff dedicated to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families. Researchers specialise in health services research, epidemiology, and evidence synthesis with a focus on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families 

In this role, you’ll play a key part in the Maawit Maladjiny Clinical Trial, delivering the Care for Child Development (CCD) program to families enrolled in the trial. The Maawit Maladjiny trial is a NHMRC funded project aiming to improve childhood development for urban Aboriginal children in Perth. 

Your day-to-day will include:

  •  Directly engaging with families enrolled in the trial by delivering the CCD intervention
  •  Collecting and managing data to support research excellence
  •  Coordinating schedules to keep everything running smoothly

You’ll work closely with the Clinical Trial Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic research setting. If you’re passionate about making an impact and love working with people, this is your chance to be part of something truly meaningful.

About you

This role is advertised under the section 50d of the Equal Opportunity Act and we are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates. 

You’ll bring: 

  1.  A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as nursing or childhood education OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
  2.  Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and/or child health with a desire to improve child development and health outcomes of Aboriginal babies and their families.
  3.  Demonstrated experience in research activities is desirable, including accurate data collection, timely completion of documentation, and the ability to engage and support families throughout study participation.
  4.  Proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Word
  5.  Current drivers license and capable of driving to project sites is a requirement for this role.
