Education Program Specialist (Newark Campus)
The Education Program Specialist develops appropriate, quality field and student teaching placements for BSEd. students for a variety of experiences in terms of school settings, age and grade levels of children, and across content areas. This includes placing pre major and all advanced major students into required field experiences as per licensure expectations of grade level and disciplinary content requirements, works closely with cooperating teachers, field instructors, distributes pre-major field handbooks, communicates with cooperating teachers and principals before, during and after placements, and intervenes when problems and issues arise in field placements. Submit placement information to faculty liaison for integration into bursar's report; maintain program enrollment verification (PEV), confer with field supervisors and faculty liaison to identify schools for undergraduate placements; Gather compliance documentation from field participants (pre-service teacher permit, code of ethics, medical form, student information, cooperating teacher trainings); forward advanced field and student teaching handbooks for distribution to cooperating teachers, students, and principals. Support licensure student data collection; complete field and student teaching databases and forward to the Office of Accreditation, Placement and Licensure (APL) for submission, act as a liaison between Ohio State Newark and the schools and community; uphold Ohio State Newark Education Program philosophies, etc; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
Desired: experience in teaching, research in education, or administrative experience in education.
This position is designated as part‑time and is scheduled for 25 hours per week.
Target salary range: $20.24–$26.44 per hour, depending on education and experience.
