Position Summary

AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Program Specialist to assist in drive its mission as American Space. In this pivotal role, the Education Program Specialist will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality educational and cultural programs. Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Coordination

  • Plan, organize, and implement educational and exchange-related events and activities, including programs such as Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP), Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders (SUSI), Fulbright Program, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, and other initiatives supported by U.S. Mission Iraq.
  • Coordinate program logistics, schedules, and official communications with U.S. Embassy in Iraq representatives and external partners to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of activities.
  • Manage program timelines, implementation plans, deliverables, and reporting requirements in alignment with Embassy and AUIB standards and guidelines.

Partnership & Liaison Role

  • Facilitate formal coordination between the AUIB American Space and the U.S. Embassy, when required, ensuring full compliance with Embassy procedures, branding, and public diplomacy guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with AMIDEAST and other education partners to coordinate joint activities, manage shared calendars, and address logistical, technical, or supply-related requests.
  • Support and coordinate joint activities with relevant Iraqi government institutions for cultural, educational, and sports programs hosted by the AUIB American Space.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement engaging educational and outreach content for workshops, trainings, speaker sessions, and special programs in line with American Space priorities.
  • Coordinate with the AUIB Events Management team to ensure high-quality program delivery, including venue arrangements, equipment and materials preparation, participant registration, and guest and speaker management.
  • Support the organization and delivery of major Embassy-related celebrations, public diplomacy events, and education and exchange fairs hosted at the American Space.

Communications & Outreach

  • Develop, manage, and maintain social media content calendars and promotional campaigns to increase awareness of the American Space and its education and exchange programs.
  • Apply marketing and communications tools to expand outreach, strengthen visibility, and increase participation among students, youth, and wider community audiences.
  • Prepare written reports, event summaries, monitoring documentation, and promotional materials to highlight program outcomes, impact, and success stories for Embassy and institutional reporting purposes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Proven experience coordinating educational, cultural, or exchange programs, preferably in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy or international organizations.
  2. Strong understanding of U.S. Government exchange and education initiatives, including IYLEP, MEPI, SUSI, Fulbright, and Humphrey programs.
  3. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional partners and to meet tight deadlines.
  5. Strong attention to detail and reporting skills, with the ability to manage program data, monitor participant progress, and ensure compliance with program requirements and sponsor guidelines.

Education and Experience

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in any relevant field, including but not limited to education, social sciences, humanities, international relations, communications, public administration, business, information technology, media studies, or other related disciplines.
  • Years of Relevant Experience: 5 years in educational program management, academic administration, or international exchange coordination.
