ABOUT THE ROLE
This position works in collaboration with academic and professional colleagues to provides effective and efficient laboratory support for the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The position will report to the Senior Laboratory Officer who will assist with maintenance of policies, procedures and forms governing the operations of the Laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently prepare, set up, and organize laboratory and classroom materials for optimal learning environments in Nursing and Midwifery.
- Provide expert technical support and instruction, ensuring smooth execution of learning activities and equipment use.
- Assist in experiments and demonstrations, setting up materials and equipment to enhance practical learning experiences.
- Maintain equipment and workspaces through regular servicing and adhere to safety protocols for hazardous substances.
- Stay updated on regulations and policies, conducting routine risk assessments to ensure compliance and safety.
- Manage equipment loans, oversee inventory, and maintain comprehensive laboratory records, contributing to operational efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
- Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience in relevant field, with extensive on-the-job training.
- Proven laboratory experience, ideally within tertiary education settings.
- Exceptional communication skills, adept at building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software packages.
- Ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams, providing a high level and responsive service.
- Comprehensive understanding of state and industry regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices.
