EEO and Diversity Program Coordinator
The City University of New York (CUNY) is the nation's leading urban public university serving hundreds of thousands of students at 26 colleges and institutions in New York City. The Central Office is the system office and administrative unit of CUNY with 10 offices throughout New York City and in Albany. The Central Office Chief Diversity Officer (CDO)/Title IX Coordinator serves as a strategist and partner for Central Office staff to provide counsel on compliance matters involving Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), sexual harassment, recruitment and hiring, accommodation requests, affirmative action and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The CDO oversees Central Office investigations in compliance with the requirements of EEO policies and is also responsible for developing and implementing plans, programs, and activities that educate and motivate the community to hold pluralism and inclusion as core values and foster a climate that respects diversity.
The Central Office is seeking an EEO and Diversity Program Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Chief Diversity Officer’s unit. Reporting to the CDO, this position supports highly confidential administrative tasks related to investigations, Affirmative Action Planning, Title IX and Sexual Misconduct matters, ADA Accommodation requests, Domestic Violence support and referrals. This position also supports related compliance, reports, and collaborates with multiple departments to handle the logistics of all training and diversity engagement activities and events.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compiles and reconciles data into reports and collaborates with various stakeholders to investigate and help resolve data errors.
- Tracks and monitors e-learning compliance courses, ensures and provides prompt updates, and troubleshoots and resolves access errors; partners with various stakeholders to review and update annual training content.
- Coordinates all logistical components of training and diversity events including, but not limited to, securing venue arrangements, coordinating meetings, building access, catering, payments, technology needs, and advertising.
- Maintains, organizes, and updates all departmental documents, files and records to ensure accuracy; maintains and updates resources and referral lists for other campuses and departments.
- Coordinates and schedules all investigative intakes, meetings, and trainings.
- Prepares and distributes mailing and correspondence including notices, updates, and closure letters.
- Maintains calendars and time/attendance records with accuracy and consistency.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
NOTE:
Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred:
- Technical knowledge and experience working with data, including acquiring data to prepare reports.
- Knowledge of using administrative or academic programs, systems, or databases.
- Experience using and maintaining calendars, office files, and cloud document organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and data integrity skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and high level of professionalism.

- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.
- Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.
- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.
- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
- May supervise office staff and student workers.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
